Paulina Zettel, BSc, ND
Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Doula, Bowen Therapy Practitioner
I have been practising as a naturopathic doctor in Guelph, for over 15 years and attending births as a doula for 10. I graduated from the naturopathic program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, and since then I have continued to learn through conferences and seminars, but mostly from all the amazing patients I have seen through the years.
I focus my family practice at Kura Naturopathic Clinic on women’s health, which includes regulating menstrual cycles, helping couples achieve fertility, maintaining an optimal pregnancy, preparing for labour and birth, and achieving a healthy transition to parenting and postpartum. I also see people of all genders, commonly for general health, fertility, digestive health, autoimmune conditions and adrenal support.
As a professional birth attendant (doula) and Hypnobirthing® instructor I help couples prepare both physically and emotionally for their birth experience. I attend births to provide ongoing support for the birthing parent and partner through the birthing process by using relaxation, self-hypnosis, homeopathy, massage and more.
I have been practising Bowen Therapy for over 12 years years, a gentle physical therapy that can be used safely during pregnancy, infancy and athletes.
I also focus my practice on the health of infants and children. I start treating many children from the day they are born! and encourage parents to continue with naturopathic care for their children through their growing stages. I offer naturopathic consultations for breastfeeding support, infant care, allergies and sensitivities, baby food introduction, immune support, acute infections and to follow closely on emotional and physical growth and development. I recommend naturopathic care for families alongside the care of their registered midwife, paediatrician or family doctor.
I am a former teaching assistant for Asian Medicine & acupuncture, and human anatomy at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, and have contributed to a book on nutrition and disease prevention (The Vegetarian Cook’s Bible by Pat Crocker). I am registered member of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and have met the Standards of Practice for Prescribing. I am able to prescribe Bioidentical Hormones.
I am a busy mother of 3 adorable children and a fun-loving wife. I like eating healthy and have some success growing my own vegetables at the Ignatius Community Gardens. I play competitive ultimate Frisbee and enjoy playing ringette and field hockey. I also make time to volunteer at Edward Johnston and Waverley Drive Schools.
Most of all, I hope families can find time in their busy lives to focus on feeling well and living a healthy lifestyle! Please contact my office if you are ready to embark!
